Dr. Guanyuan Jin 金观源, MD, C.Ac., is one of world"s forefront acupuncturists, Qigong masters and Chinese herbalists besides a recognized expert in systems medicine, physiology, chronobiology, neurology, cardiology and oncology. With a rich clinical and research experience of over 51 years in both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine, Dr. Jin has authored 25 professional textbooks, including his latest book Contemporary Medical Acupuncture - A Systems Approach.
After arriving USA in the late 1980s , Dr. Jin completed post-doctoral fellowship at Medical College of WI and became one of the first 17 national board certified acupuncturists and Chinese herbologists (NCCAOM). Currently, besides operating a busy private practice at Milwaukee, Dr. Jin holds many titles and duties including Inaugural Honorary Clinical Specialist, Beijing Univ. of Chinese Medicine, PRC, Visiting Professor / past Honorary Professor, Guangzhou Univ. of Chinese Medicine, PRC, Doctoral Professor, American Academy of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, USA. He was also past Board Chair of Association of Chinese Scientists & Engineers (ACSE), USA, and founding President, Society of Chinese American Professors & Scientists (SoCAPS).
From 1993 to 2005, he served as the Acupuncture Advisor for the State of Wisconsin, and through his efforts, over the years, Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin, Mayor Tom Barret of Milwaukee, and Mayor Jeff Speaker of Brookfield all publicly proclaimed "Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day” and "World Tai Chi and Qigong Day”.
