Dementia often occurs among the aged population and patients often suffer declines in memory, calculation, visual perception, reasoning, and etc. It is named as Dullness Pattern” in TCM.  From the perspective of TCM,“memory exists in brain” and “brain is the sea of marrow”; therefore, marrow is the fundamental substance for human cognition. The liver governs tendons and the kidney governs marrow. Generally, aged people suffer deficient liver and kidney, which results in insufficient marrow and weak tendons; consequently, a cognition decline occurs.
